Ethiopia is the
birth place of coffee. The coffee belt of the south western
Ethiopia, particularly the place called Keffa is knowen to be where
coffee was primarily originated. The country’s coffee ceremony is
also as old as the coffee itself. Coffee for Ethiopian is like tea
for the Japanese who have an elaborate tradition known as the tea
ceremony, although it is not much written about the Japanese tea
ceremony. Any visitor to Habesha Cultural Center and Art Gallery
will be caught with the smell of freshly roasted coffee right from
the gates of the center. The great enjoyment is not only from the
great flavor of the forest organic coffee served just as a
complement for foreign visitors but also the astonishing ceremony
accompanied by the hospitality, typical of Ethiopian. |
